Mr. Simpson of Tramway (just South of Sanford), was a checker player and horseshoe pitcher.  I have a newspaper article that mentions his name in 1974 playing in the NC State Tournament.  He was born on July 2, 1928 and died June 27, 2002,  just 5 days shy of his birthday and 74 years old.  Funeral arrangements by Bridges Cameron Funeral Home of Sanford.
